The countdown to Hollywood’s biggest night is on! The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has announced that the live telecast of the prestigious Oscars ceremony will commence an hour earlier than usual, starting at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT), on Sunday, March 12, 2023 [1]. ABC will air a captivating 30-minute pre-show leading up to the live telecast at 6:30 p.m. ET, and immediately following the end of the ceremony, a new episode of the critically acclaimed comedy “Abbott Elementary” will be aired [2].

In keeping with the tradition, the Academy has also stated that this year’s show runtime will last three and a half hours [3]. Jimmy Kimmel, who has previously hosted the awards ceremony in 2017, 2018, and 2022, will once again grace our screens as the emcee for the star-studded event [4][5]. Molly McNearney, Kimmel’s wife, will also be returning to serve as an executive producer for the second consecutive year [4][5].
