Rebel Wilson Stands Firm Against Alleged Bullying Attempts by Sacha Baron Cohen: A Matter of Principle in “Rebel Rising”

In an unexpected turn of events, Australian actress Rebel Wilson has announced that Sacha Baron Cohen, her co-star from the 2016 film “The Brothers Grimsby,” has allegedly attempted to hinder the release of her upcoming memoir, “Rebel Rising.”

Wilson expressed her determination not to be intimidated by Cohen’s reported legal intervention or PR crisis management tactics. She took to her Instagram stories on Monday, March 21, 2023, to share her stance. Wilson wrote: “I will not be bullied or silenced by high-priced lawyers or PR crisis managers. The ‘a**hole’ I am talking about in ONE CHAPTER of my book is Sacha Baron Cohen.”

Previously, Wilson hinted at Cohen trying to prevent media coverage of her book on social media. She stated, “He’s trying to stop press coming out about my new book. But the book WILL come out, and you will all know the truth.”

The specific details of Wilson’s claims against Cohen remain undisclosed. However, a representative for Baron Cohen disputed these allegations, stating: “While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, film footage, and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of The Brothers Grimsby.”

During a video shared on Instagram earlier in March 2023, Wilson discussed her “no a**holes” policy in Hollywood. She explained: “When I first came to Hollywood, people were like, ‘Yeah, I have a no a**hole policy, means like, yeah, I don’t work with a**holes.’ I was like, ‘Oh yeah. I mean, that sounds sensible or logical.’ But then it really sunk in because I worked with a massive a**hole and, now I definitely have a no a**holes policy.”

Back in 2016, during an interview with UK Marie Claire, Wilson spoke candidly about Cohen’s request for her to film a nude scene for “The Brothers Grimsby,” which she refused. She said: “You want to know that the people behind the camera have a certain sensibility and decency. And a lot of times in comedy, they’re not those people.”

“Rebel Rising,” Wilson’s much-anticipated memoir, is scheduled to be released on April 2, 2023. As the release date approaches, fans eagerly await the truth behind Wilson’s allegations against Cohen.
